What you are buying

SourceSecure is a Chrome extension and a website. The extension reads what somebody is about to send on a supported chat site, recognises client details in it, and offers a version with those details replaced before the message goes.

A firm buys seats of three kinds and gives each person one. A Guard seat has the redaction. A Guard Pro seat adds prompt coaching: suggestions on how to ask a better question, and a score for how the firm's prompting is improving. A Guard 360 seat adds reply marks: the parts of each AI reply worth a second look, underlined and checked against a vault of what the person and the firm have said about themselves.

A firm buying Guard or Guard Pro seats can choose at checkout to try Guard 360 on those seats for two weeks, at no charge. Each person's two weeks start when they first connect a browser, and then their own seat applies again; nothing is charged or changed unless the firm's admin changes its seats. The trial is given once per buyer.

A firm's Guard 360 seats share an allowance of checked replies each month, set by how many Guard 360 seats it has. Past it, replies are still checked, but only the most important marks are shown until the next month begins.

Supported sites today are ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI, Mistral and NotebookLM. That list can change if those sites change, and we will say so rather than quietly dropping one.

What it is not

This is the most important paragraph on this page. SourceSecure is a safety net, not a guarantee. It will miss things.

It never blocks anybody from sending anything. When it finds something, it offers a redacted version and a Send as typed button, and the person chooses. If it finds nothing, the message goes as written. If the extension fails, is slow, or has been switched off, the message still goes.

Detection is imperfect by nature. Names, addresses and company names are recognised by a model making a judgment, not by a rule, and judgments are sometimes wrong in both directions. Account numbers and SINs are matched by shape, and an unusual format can be missed.

Your firm remains responsible for what its people send. SourceSecure reduces how often a client detail reaches an AI tool by accident. It does not remove your obligations to your clients or your regulator, and it should not be described to them as if it did.

Accounts and seats

One person belongs to one team. The person who buys becomes the team's admin and can add or remove people, give each person a kind of seat, change how many seats of each kind the firm has, and manage billing.

Everybody signs in with an email address they own, either through Google or through a link we email them. There are no passwords.

A seat is a person, not a browser. One person can connect several browsers on the same seat. What their browsers do depends on their own kind of seat, not on the best kind the firm has bought.

Paying

Subscriptions are monthly, in Canadian dollars, per seat, at the price of each seat's kind. The price of every seat falls as the team's total number of seats grows, whatever their kinds; the current prices are on the pricing page and are charged exactly as shown there.

Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or hold your card details.

A change in seats is charged or credited for what is left of the month, on the next invoice. Seats of a kind can only go down to the number of people who have that kind, so nobody is removed because a number changed.

You can cancel at any time from the Billing tab. The subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund partial months by default, though if something has gone wrong, write to us.

If a payment fails, SourceSecure stops working for the team until the card is updated. The team's records are not deleted.

Using it properly

Do not use SourceSecure to break the law, or to get around the terms of the chat sites it works with.

Do not share one seat between several people. Seats are cheap enough that it is not worth it, and a shared seat makes the firm's own records useless.

Do not attempt to pull the extension apart to extract the model, or to interfere with how other firms' copies work.

What we promise, and what we do not

We will keep the service running, keep the extension working with the supported sites as they change, and tell admins before anything changes that affects what is collected or who receives it.

We do not promise the service will never be unavailable, and we do not promise that every client detail will be caught. See the section above; it is not a formality.

To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for any claim relating to SourceSecure is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot be limited by law.

Ending it

You can cancel at any time, for any reason, without talking to anybody.

We can end an account that is being used to break the law or to attack the service, and we will say why.

When an account ends, the extension stops protecting that firm's browsers. To have the firm's records deleted as well, email us and we will do it.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters to you, we will email the admin of every firm before it takes effect. The date at the top says when they last changed.
